At Metro Industrial Services, the heart of what we do lies in serving others, and Dana Rollin's embodies that spirit! She is one of our inspiring Regional Managers. Her journey with Metro is a testament to resilience, connection, and the power of taking risks to achieve personal and professional growth.
One of Dana’s most significant challenges came early in her Metro career when she stepped into the role of manager at the Winchester location. Eager to manage her responsibilities and do the best job possible, she developed a strategy to stay organized and ensure every employee felt valued. “I had to start making a list of daily tasks, rearranging priorities, and adding new ones as they developed,” she recalls. Her focus on being fully present and offering genuine recognition transformed her leadership approach, earning her the trust and admiration of her team.
Her tenacity was tested again during a big project, where she oversaw operations across three locations and managed 200 employees without a proper time clock system. Despite the challenges for Metro to mitigate, Dana personally visited each site, met with every employee, and handed out her business card to reassure them of her commitment. “That week, I took 67 phone calls during my six-hour drive home,” she remembers. This experience solidified her ability to thrive under pressure and reminded her of the power of personal connection.
Dana’s journey with Metro began with a professional risk, leaving her career as a welder to join the company at a significant pay cut. But something about Metro’s mission and culture resonated with her. Over a decade later, Dana’s decision has not only transformed her career but also enriched her life in ways she never imagined.
Outside of work, Dana is a passionate photographer who captures life’s candid moments. Living in the country offers her the perfect backdrop for her hobby. She also has a unique love for collecting vintage Pyrex dishes, not for display but for use in her everyday life.
Dana’s story is one of courage, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to Metro’s values. Her ability to connect with others, even in the toughest situations, inspires us to give our best every day.
