Metro Services Employee Spotlight, July 2021 - Heather Thompson

Congratulations Heather! The Employee Spotlight for July is on Communications Supervisor Heather Thompson. Since becoming part of the Metro Services team last October, Heather has emerged as a talented and excellent team leader at the Manchester 3PL Communications Center. She is very thorough and great at explaining processes to new employees. 

Q: Heather, how long have you been working with Metro Services?
A: I have been with Metro for 10 months

Q: What does your job entail?
A: I am the Communication Supervisor at the Communication Center. I help fill our 3PL positions and lead my team in filling those positions and others.

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the atmosphere that I work in and that each and every day I am learning something new to advance my role in this company.

Q: What is the best career lesson you have learned so far?
A: I have learned that just like God gives us chance after chance, we as a staffing company, need to have the same compassion toward others that God has toward us.

Q: What would you do (for a career) if you were not doing this?
A: I honestly cannot see myself anywhere else but here. I want to grow with this company and one day, when I'm old and gray, retire from Metro.

Q: What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
A: When I'm not working, I love being a mom to my 3 amazing kids.

Q: How do you think working at Metro has influenced your perspective on life?
A: Working for Metro has changed my perspective on life in so many ways. In a very big way, it has helped me strengthen my walk with God.

Q: What are 3 words to best describe you?
A: Fun, driven, and caring

Q: What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
A: I am obsessed with the Golden Girls and I Love Lucy.

Q: Where’s your favorite place in the world?
A: One of my favorite places that I have been to was Cozumel Mexico

Q: Given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?
A: I would have loved to have been Jackie O for a day when she was married to JFK. She had amazing style and sunglasses I might add!
