Hard work can change the direction of a life, and Cecil Haggins is a great example.
Since joining Metro as a Welder in May, Cecil has continued to prove himself through his work ethic, commitment, and determination to do better every day. His efforts have not gone unnoticed. Our client provides monthly updates on his performance, and Cecil continues to exceed expectations. But Cecil's story goes beyond his work on the floor. He has worked hard to build a different future for himself, and along the way, he has developed a genuine desire to encourage other people who may be working toward a better life of their own.
Earlier in his life, Cecil spent ten years behind bars. When he walked out, he knew he had a decision to make about what came next. He could remain stuck in the life he had known, or he could fight for something different. He chose to fight. That choice has shaped the way Cecil approaches his life today. He stayed committed, kept pushing himself, and continued working toward the person he wanted to become.
“I am not the person I used to be,” Cecil shared. “I’m stronger, wiser, and determined.”
Now, Cecil wants to share his story because he believes someone else may need to hear it. He wants people to know that redemption is real, growth is real, and that no matter where you start, you can build something meaningful for yourself. Metro has been a part of that next chapter. As Kristy from our Chattanooga office put it, “Metro gave him the start to his new beginning.” Cecil has taken that opportunity and continued to show what he can do with it, not only through his work, but through helping others along the way.
Cecil chose hope over his past. Today, he's focused on what comes next we're proud to be part of the journey.
Thank you, Cecil, for sharing your story, bringing your determination to Metro, and reminding others that a new beginning is always worth fighting for. We're proud to have you on Team Metro.
