Keauna never imagined she would leave her previous career. For 13 years, she poured her heart into education administration, guiding students, and believing that the education system was where she belonged. But sometimes, life has a way of leading us somewhere we never knew we needed to be.
Leaving education was terrifying. The career world she had known for 13 years was inside a school building, but something in her gut told her to leap and she found Metro Services.
"Metro is a place where you can grow and become as successful as you want," Keauna says. "The opportunities to impact the lives of job seekers are immense. Not only do we get to give people the chance to provide for themselves and their families, but we also offer them a way to feel accomplished and the potential to have a career-not just a job."
It didn’t take long for her to realize that she wasn’t just filling roles, she was changing lives. "Being a member of the Metro team, where I know I can make a positive mark and not just earn an income, makes getting up and going to work something I want to do."
If there’s one thing Keauna believes in, it’s pushing forward—no matter the obstacle. She’s seen it firsthand in her daughter, Lily, who was born with Cerebral Palsy but never lets it slow her down.
"She sees the world with such joy and rarely has a bad day; even when she is having a bad day, it never lasts long. She is the sweetest soul I’ve ever been blessed to meet. If she wants to accomplish something, she figures out a way to make it happen instead of finding a way to keep it from happening."
Inspired by her daughter’s resilience, Keauna set her own goal: to earn her degree before Lily graduates. It wasn’t easy. School had never come naturally to her, and with the demands of work and life, there were plenty of reasons to put it off. She pushed through the challenges, balanced work and studies, and in November, she officially earned her BA in Management and Leadership with a minor in Psychology.
Keauna never expected to find herself at Metro, but sometimes, the most meaningful paths are the ones we never saw coming. What started as a leap of faith became a career filled with purpose. She helps people find opportunities, build confidence, and take steps toward a better
future—just like she did.
