Morgan Drab

The Employee Spotlight for March 2022 is our Staffing Coordinator at the Michigan office, Morgan Drab. Let’s give a shout-out to Morgan!

Q: How long have you been working with Metro Services?
A: I have been working with Metro since December 2021.

Q: What does your job entail?
A: I am responsible for the entire payroll for the Michigan region projects, but I also answer phones, listen to our employees’ concerns, and help young adults dive headfirst into what can be an amazing career opportunity.

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: While there are many aspects of my job that I love, the one thing I love the most is the environment that Metro provides. From day one, I have felt welcomed. Everyone is there to answer questions and to lend a hand when I need help. The overall feeling of ‘family’ that Metro exudes is terrific and has given me an extra jump in my drive to be the best I can be for Metro.

Q: What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
A: Metro has taught me many things in the last few months, the most important being to trust my gut and always strive to do the right thing.

Q: What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
A: If I weren’t at Metro, my career of choice would be (outlandish) World Traveler. One of my biggest dreams in life is to travel overseas to Europe. In particular, I want to go to Poland to see my great-grandparents’ homeland. I would also like to visit Switzerland, Ireland, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and I would love the opportunity to go to Dubai.

Q: What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
A: I spend my time off work in the ways most parents do. I try to spend as much time with my kiddo, Emerson, as I can. We both love going on walks with our pup, Brantley. As a family, we enjoy going to the park by the Detroit River, taking nature walks, and snuggling up and watching all the Disney Classics!

Q: How do you think working at Metro has influenced your perspective on life?
A: Metro has largely impacted my perspective on life. Before working here, my view of office environments was cold, robotic, and dull. Metro has really shown me that when you have a company with great leaders, with leaders who understand what it means to be a leader, the entire environment changes. It’s almost like I see things a little brighter now. Metro has also given me a new perspective on my own life and how I view myself. I have long-term goals with Metro, and everyone has helped me realize that these are attainable.

Q: Three words to best describe you:
A: I feel three words that describe me are spiritual, thoughtful, and dependable.

Q: What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
A: Back in 2015, I started my own small business. I made organic bath and body products for men and women. I did absolutely everything myself, from making and marketing the products to ordering the supplies and delivering customer service. I loved doing it but had to dissolve the business in 2018. Another fun fact is that I have watched every episode of The Office several times.

Q: Where’s your favorite place in the world?
A: My favorite place in the world is Disney World! I try to save enough money to go every other year, but when the pandemic hit, it sort of put my Disney dreams on halt.

Q: Given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?
A: This is a tricky question to answer, and usually everyone has an answer without giving it too much thought, but I don’t. While sometimes I wish I could disappear, I don’t think I would want to be anyone else for a day. Not to be cliché, but I love who I am, and every day I learn a little more about myself. Ultimately, I think being my true authentic self is who I have always wanted to be.
